Amrita University has opened the SEER Lab to tackle environmental issues. It combines five labs focusing on water, soil, climate change, and marine ecosystems for better research and solutions.
Amrita University has started a new lab called the Sustainable Ecosystem and Environmental Resilience (SEER) Lab at its Amritapuri campus. This lab aims to address important environmental issues.
The SEER Lab includes five specialized labs: the Water Sustainability Lab, Soil Ecosystem Lab, Microbiology Lab, Climate Change and Water Resilience Lab, and Marine Ecosystem Lab. Each lab focuses on different aspects of the environment.
The lab was opened by Swami Shubamritananda Puri during a special ceremony. Important figures from the university, including Dr. Maneesha V Ramesh and Dr. M Ravishankar, were also present to celebrate this initiative.

The Water Sustainability Lab provides tools for analyzing and managing water quality. The Soil Ecosystem Lab focuses on assessing soil health and restoring ecosystems. The Microbiology Lab studies how tiny organisms help keep ecosystems healthy and fight diseases.
The Climate Change and Water Resilience Lab looks at how climate change affects water resources and develops strategies for adaptation. Lastly, the Marine Ecosystem Lab explores the relationships within marine environments and works on conservation efforts.
