CLAT 2025 paper analysis: The Common Law Entrance Test (CLAT 2025) was held by the Consortium of National Law Universities on December 1, 2024. The exam for both UG and PG candidates ran from 2 pm to 4 pm.

So, how hard was the exam? Amitendra Kumar, the Product Head of CL-LST, provides a detailed analysis of the paper.
Kumar noted that the CLAT paper was easier than in previous years and followed the same format for the second year in a row. The exam included 120 questions to be completed in 2 hours.
The overall difficulty of the 2025 exam was rated as easy to moderate when compared to last year.
Overview of Section-wise Questions
- English Language: This section had 20-21 questions and was rated easy to moderate, slightly easier than last year.
- Current Affairs including General Knowledge: There were 20-21 questions, with a decrease of 2-3 questions from the previous year.
- Legal Reasoning: Kumar found this section easy, with all 32 questions being manageable.
- Logical Reasoning: There was one incorrect question, but 16-18 questions were still doable.
- Quantitative Techniques: This section was lengthy, with 5-6 questions being manageable.
Also, candidates were reminded to bring their admit cards and necessary documents, following the instructions on their hall tickets.
They had to enter the test center by 1 pm and be seated by 1:30 pm. Leaving the exam hall before 4 pm was not allowed.
Additionally, candidates could not bring unauthorized materials like notes or electronic devices into the exam hall.
