About the Scholarship:
The Pradhan Mantri Uchchatar Shiksha Protsahan (PM-USP) Scholarship is offered by the Department of Higher Education, Ministry of Education. It aims to assist students from low-income families with their daily expenses while they pursue higher education.
Each year, up to 82,000 new scholarships are available for students in Graduate and Postgraduate programs, including professional courses like Medical and Engineering.
Eligibility Criteria:
To qualify for this scholarship, candidates must meet the following criteria:
- Be in the top 80th percentile of their Class 12 examination.
- Be enrolled in regular degree courses.
- Attend institutions recognized by the All India Council for Technical Education.
- Have a family income not exceeding ₹4,50,000 per year.
- Maintain at least 50% marks and 75% attendance to renew the scholarship.
- Possess a bank account in their name.
Who are not eligible to apply:
The following students cannot apply for this scholarship:
- Those studying through correspondence or distance learning.
- Students already receiving benefits from other scholarship schemes.
